Review of Red Road (2006) by George B — 27 Sep 2010
The first film by Andrea Arnold, whose "Fish Tank" I enjoyed so much last month. This isn't quite as good, the psychological tale of revenge in the second half gets a bit unforgiving - but I really enjoy the bleakness of the urban landscapes in her films, the believability of the worlds she's exploring.
A British filmmaker worth watching, in similar vein to Shane Meadows - but "nower".
