Review of Red River (2009) by Blackity B — 06 Sep 2010
How this one has gotten by me for so long seems odd. Truly brilliant for the most part, it's a western with such a fantastic build up of conflict that I was genuinely glued to the screen. Unfortunately, the women in this movie are poorly constructed and of course the biggest let-down is the ending, which doesn't come anywhere near to resolving this story the way it ought to have been.
For an hour and a half of this film though, I felt like I was invited into some of the greatest build up of tension, I have ever witnessed in a movie. Just a real sin that they bottled it and didn't see it through to the credits.
