Review of Red River (1948) by Dylan D — 27 Apr 2006
When I saw this I was blown away at how they got all of those cattle rounded up and then filmed them. It must have been really hard but Howard Hawks pulled it off. John Wayne was fantastic in his role although he wasn't really the main guy.
Montgomery Clift was also fantastic. I would also have to agree that this is one of the greatest westerns of all time. Part of that is because the very last scene is inspiring at how Montgomery Clift and John Wayne became friends again.
I highly recommend this movie because it is really something to watch.
