Review of Red Planet (2000) by Jeffrey M — 12 Feb 2012
It's certainly not the best film of the genre, but it's not the worst. The script is uneven, and the CGI a bit outdated. Still, I liked its literal approach to science fiction and the team's mission, an emphasis not on wowing the audience, so much as trying to create tension and interest through the characters, which mostly works. The premise, as far fetched is it might be, is actually relatable, something many films of this specific genre lack.
3/5 Stars.
