Review of Red Lights (2012) by Tony P — 20 Jun 2012
I enjoyed this movie, but in the end I didn't get it.
I've been wracking by brains since watching it and I still don't understand the motives of one of the characters.
I don't wish to give anything away, so it's not easy for me to convey what I mean.
Let me put it this way: If what is revealed at the end is so, then I can't for the life of me understand why we had to put up with the narrative as it is told anyway?
Perhaps there is a flaw in the direction?
I would have to see it again.
But Robert De Niro is excellent and Cillian Murphy is superb.
Sigourney Weaver takes a bit of a back seat, so she feels a little unused, although there is one emotional scene in which she talks about the death of her young son which she pulls off with heart breaking authenticity.
Yeah, I would recommend it just so you can let me know what you think?
