Review of Red Hill (2010) by Aslyn E — 21 Oct 2011
A strong start eventually goes south as the plot reveals itself to actually be rather shallow. City boy takes up a job as an cop in the Aussie countryside, just as a feared former outlaw breaks out of prison and rolls into town for some payback.
Ironically I found it to get boring when the action actually starts. The tense build up then turns into a series of budget action scenes with the notorious criminal turning out to be not that scary IMO.
The twist at the end is ok but didn't have the profound impact on me that others told me it would. Dissappointing.
