Not one of arnie's strongest moments, but it's still an arnie movie.
This is about as formulaic as 80's cop movies get. Every step of the way trips over another cliche. But this has Arnie in it. So it's always worth watching.
I never notcied when watching this back in the day, but arnie is just playing the terminator in this movie. With a slight (and strange) russian accent. it's just crazy. He has almost no chemistry with belushi (who frankly should stick to dogs) and the movie has no real drive to it at all, keeping you involved with only a few action sequences worth noting and one or two fine arnie moments.
This was a lesser arnie movie back in the day and nothing has really changed over time. It's gritty and almost too typical of it's time. It has a fine mix of dodgy cliche jazz riff score mixed with leftovers of the commando theme and frankly if there was no arnie in here this would be totally forgettable. But arnie IS in it - so go watch it.
DO IT NOW!
