Review of Red Heat (1988) by Anna B — 15 Aug 2014
I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, because Jim Belushi, but this was surprisingly (because Walter Hill?) bad. It's not funny, at all (sample joke, if you can call it that: "How do you relax in Russia?" "Vodka.
"), the plot is so generic I just didn't care at all what was happening, and the action doesn't make up for it; it's really poorly staged and geographically very confusing. The (in theory awesome) bus chase at the end is just a mess.
I wanted to come away from this saying it was OK except for Belushi, but it really wasn't.
