Review of Red Heat (1988) by Matt M — 31 Oct 2013
Film about a collaboration between Soviet Union and American forces to track down a narcotic kingpin. On the verge of the fall of the Berlin wall, this film would seem well inspired by an atmosphere of collaboration between the two countries that signalled the end of the Cold War.
However, the whole thing shows more than anything else that this theme is another chance to exploit something else out of current affairs and turn it into a dull and forgettable action thriller.
