Having read the book, I really liked this movie. I thought it was a great adaptation. And after seeing the original version of this movie, "Manhunter," I think this movie really holds up! I think a lot of people think this movie was another cheap attempt to capitalize on Anthony Hopkins's portrayal of Dr.
Lecter, or they really prefer the original movie, and I completely disagree with both sentiments.
