Review of Red Dragon (2002) by Guy L — 08 Apr 2011
Infinitely better done as Manhunter, a far more interesting and compelling film; Brian Cox's Lector is more skillful and scary than Hopkins' re-run of the character. Despite a fine cast and more attention to the details of the book -- the Tooth fairy's childhood, for isntance, and the New York scenes -- Red Dragon is flat and passionless by comparison.
