Review of Red Dawn (2012) by Stephen S — 04 Aug 2013
Honestly not nearly as bad as I've been told. I'll be the first to admit that there's a lot wrong with this film--a lot of the younger actors aren't so great (though Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chris Hemsworth and awesome as usual).
This film is way too short as well, and the problem is that it cuts the sequences showing how the characters develop from high school teens into freedom fighters, opting instead for the use of montage.
Some of the characters are less memorable than in the original, but others make up for it to some extent. I like the more optimistic ending--true, a bunch of the characters die in this movie, but pretty much everybody bought it in the original.
I think only two people were left out of like a dozen at the end of the original. So not as good as the original, but still worth checking out.
