Review of Red Dawn (1984) by Larry C — 10 Apr 2014
An awesome 80s movie as long as you don't ask too many questions or concern yourself with trivial matters like nothing in the plot making any sense. The tour de force submitted by the overacting Holy Trinity of Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Powers Booth is truly one to behold for the ages.
If it was made any time other than 1984 it would be laughable for all the wrong reasons but for some reason it works and is full of dumb fun that you can laugh at without it being like an Ed Wood movie.
It's The Mighty Ducks meets Rambo 3 meets Home Alone meets Braveheart, and who can say no to Swayze and the rest of the Wolverines declaring primae noctis on those dirty Commie bastards?
