Review of Red Dawn (1984) by Richard W — 31 Jul 2008
I found this a starnge mix of a film. It started off as a gun ho 80's flick as a group of american kids manage to do what the regualr us army couldn't and blow the shit out of an invading cuban/russian army.
But then in the last 3rd of the film, as the characters are picked off one by one, it attempts IMO to morph into a more sombre piece reflecting the human cost of war which of seems to jar with the more jingoisic start to the film.
