Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Mike M — 29 Mar 2010
If you're going to watch Red Cliff, make the effort to seek out the 4.5 hour directors cut, it is the far superior version, itâ??s like the comparison between the Theatrical and Directors Cuts of Lord of the Rings, there is simply no comparison, this version leaves the theatrical version virtually unwatchable. 'Red Cliff: Directors Cut, is a stunning epic, full of rich characterizations, storytelling and visual grandeur. It reveals fascinating insight into ancient Chinese warfare and strategy. The performances are brilliant the highlights here being Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung. The film has a certain magic that Hollywood has lost, balancing, sly humor, drama and philosophy, itâ??s a one of a kind film, adventurous and wonderous.
Watch the directors cut now.
