Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Jordan R — 21 Apr 2010
A well acted war epic filled with spectacular battle scenes. I saw the extended version of the film and I really liked how the movie was not totally dominated by the battle scenes, but instead allowed its characters to develope during smaller scenes of battle preparation.
This made it so that by the time the final battle began I actually cared about what the result of the battle would be. I liked how the film combined large scale battles with some more stylized one on one fights.
This combination kept it interesting for me since I normally get bored during drawn out battle scenes.
