Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Ross P — 11 Sep 2012
It's a pity there are so many characters on screen for almost an equal amount of time, we don't really know who to connect to. I would have liked to see more intimacy with them and exploration of how they feel knowing a monumental battle is imminent.
As you'd expect from John Woo - the master of exhilaration - the action sequences are intricate and perfectly edited. It's an impressive film overall.
