Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Joe T — 10 Mar 2011
This review is for both part 1 & 2, since I saw them together.
Wow, what a huge epic master piece from John Woo. I think this is probably his best work. The sheer scale of the movie is incredible, and the battle scenes are on par with any movie I have ever seen. Include in that a seemingly endless and diverse cast that does an excellent job and that it is based of historical accounts of the battle and you have an simply amazing movie, although the running time of 4 hours and 40 is too long, but the action and acting totally make up for it.
