This is a review of the 4 and 1/2 hour cut (the actual film). After a series of unsuccessful films out West, John Woo returns to Asia and crafts arguably the largest-scaled epic since 'The Lord of the Rings.
' Funnily enough, the action scenes are not the stars here --- the dialogue and character interactions shine through the most. Welcome back, Mr. Woo.
