This is truly a good horror film, about a documentary crew that follows a fire department brigade for a night. The first call is to a hotel building for a first aid call, and they find themselves in the middle of a hellish situation.

The hotel is quarantined, leaving everybody inside trapped with apparently zombies caused by a strange virus unleashed from an unknown cause. The whole movie as everybody knows, is from a hand held camera from the viewpoint of the camera man with the reporter.

Things get progressively worse as the short (75 minutes) running time seems longer, because the movie never ever slows down, especially the last 20 minutes. The last 20 minutes, most specifically the last ten minutes are truly horrifying and pretty damn scary.

Even with the headache inducing shaky cam. I'm not sure I like the movie better than "Cloverfield", but they are pretty close in effectiveness and quality. I'm not much interested in the American remake, I can't imagine the remake getting anywhere close to the tension, terror, and chilling conclusion to [REC].
