Review of Rebel Without a Cause (1955) by Ricardo O — 15 Sep 2009
Great film that made James Dean the icon everyone knows him as today. Even though I do find it as a great film, to me it didn't do it for me as East Of Eden did. I have yet to watch Giant but to me this was his second best film.
And I don't know which performance to think of as his best because they are both great. Both Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo give solid and truthful performances but why wasn't Dean also nominated for this film.
I mean yeah he was nominated for East Of Eden but I think he deserved two nominations. As much as all the other nominees for that category that year are great I think Dean should have won for one of these films.
If only he didn't maybe he would have been the next Brando. I seriously think he would have.
