Review of Rear Window (1954) by Thomas R — 27 Nov 2011
Simply and spectacularly composed. A broken leg renders James Stewart a fly on the wall in an unfolding murder mystery set in an claustrophobic urban environment. He has no more influence than you, the viewer, and this proves an incredibly effective device for building tension.
