Review of Rear Window (1954) by Jack B — 26 Dec 2012
One of my favourite Hitchcock films; Pulse-quickening without being motivated by set pieces and undeniably interesting. The fact that we enjoy constructing our own thoughts about these characters by gazing at them, perhaps says more than anything regarding voyeurism.
Rear Window is a landmark that has unexpected cultural value, when you consider how society has become, more than ever about gazing. Still Rear Window is one of Hitchcock's best pieces of work and endlessly re-watchable.
