Review of Rear Window (1954) by Sumit S — 05 Jan 2013
A masterpiece of suspense & mystery, hard to resist & impossible to ignore, Rear Window is one of the greatest films of all time presenting Alfred Hitchcock in complete control of his wizardry.
Superbly directed with great use of suspense, smartly scripted, tightly edited, & featuring great performances from its cast, Rear Window is a tale of a man peeping into his neighbourhood & getting obsessed with one neighbour's life & reflects the same about the society filled with peeping toms that has only grown with time.
One of the best of its genre, Rear Window reminds why Hitchcock is still without an equal when it comes to thrillers & is a thrilling & unforgettable cinematic experience.
