Review of Rear Window (1954) by Cristian M — 10 Dec 2013
From Albert Hitchcock, master of suspense and keeping you on your toes comes a movie from your local backyard and from your window. Guess you can learn a lot from your neighbors with a broken leg huh?
Rear Window. We get to know Mr. Jefferson who has a broken leg but is also a photographer for probably a newspaper company or CNN (was CNN around during the 50's?) anyway, he eventually gets interested in one of his neighbors named Lars who he believes is involved with some kind of crime and Mr. Jefferson wants to get to the bottom of it.
The film itself, very good for it's time, great camera work from Hitchcock and different story, you can see that Disturbia was definitely inspired by this. The actors them selfs did a fine job and made you believe that something not normal was going on. Especially the ending where it was some of the most suspense scenes I've ever seen, not back for a 50's film to let me feel that way.
Good movie, definitely recommend it and probably my favorite Hitchcock film, granted haven't really seen all of his but this one kept me interesting throughout the whole film.
