Review of Real Genius (1985) by Hoang-Mai H — 19 Aug 2007
Brilliantly cheesy and so eighties. I am so in love with val kilmer in this one. he makes a believable hot genius. ending is absolutely classic, with the heroes (the geniuses) blowing up their jackass professor's house -which he had bought with the money he got from selling off the super laser they built to the CIA - ingeniously with popcorn (which had been established earlier in the movie aka obviously inserted, as jackass professor's biggest pet peeve).
closing shot of neighborhood kids and geniuses frolicking in the popcorn with "Everybody wants to rule the world" by tears for fears playing as credits begin to roll.
