Review of Ready Player One (2018) by Cameron R — 12 Apr 2018

Loved it. Loved everything about it. Adventure? Excitement? An audience craves these things. Just a good fun adventure movie. Don't expect anything deeper than that.

Inspired me to go and read the book, which was also a good choice, It is a really easy and short read (to me it was), has the same spirit and heart they managed to project into the movie, but with very different set ups for the actual challenges. I think the choices made were wise. What works well on the written page and what works well on a screen are different, and I think a lot of the chosen changes were done for visual wow factor while keeping the theme and tone of the book.

And they get it in this movie! Unlike a certain recent cinematic travesty.
