A missed opportunity from a director who dominated the 1980s, the decade this movie makes so many shallow pop-culture references of, and over explains them. The casting could have been more meta (Peter Weller would have been an "Easter egg" casting choice).
Overall, I've played videogames with more depth than this movie.
