Review of Ready Player One (2018) by S B — 26 Jul 2018

This movie was an affront to all movies made from books. It failed to stay true to either the plot line or the message of the book, but instead took all the worst parts of the book (chain referencing nostalgia anyone?) to create a muddled, uninspiring and boring mess of a movie.

I greatly enjoyed the book, and its fun coming of age tale paying homage to the 80s and gamer culture. The movie has none of that. Stay away. Very far away.
