Review of Read My Lips (2001) by Benny H — 07 Nov 2007
Although there was quite an intriguing main plot in this film, at times it dragged, and some of the subplots, particularly the one that culminates along with the final driving away scene, were totally unneccessary in my opinion.
Both the greasy haired, mustachioed, chain smoking Cassel, and the nervous, lonely, sexually immature Devos, act with pure true Gallic energy throughout.
I would have given it 4****, but it dragged a bit, and some of Devos' solo scenes in particular were irrelevant to the plot.
Still, you could do worse on a Saturday, and with a bottle of Red, it would make for a lazy enjoyable evening.
