Review of Ray (2004) by Sujit O — 10 Dec 2013
This biopic without a doubt stands a mile above most biopics I've seen in the past not due to one reason but because of the culmination of many!
First off, THE ACTING- No doubt Jamie Foxx has managed to bring about such a powerful performance at showing Ray's rise and falls, however the other actors also bring about such great performances and create such a great tone for the film that by the first 20 mins or so you really start feeling for the characters in the story!
Although I haven't seen many other works of Taylor Hackford, Ray really shows his storytelling abilities as a director and as a writer!
Without a doubt a must watch!
I must confess those flashback sequences were too intense for me to handle at times!
