Review of Raw Deal (1986) by Zane T — 25 Feb 2009
I like this movie for several reasons. It's a classic mid-80s action piece of shit. I like that you Gov. Schwarzenegger flubs most of his lines. I like that even though he is a former Fed, no one seems to recognize him.
This movie was released by DEG, a distribution company that has been defunct for more than 20 years now which filmed a lot of movies in North Carolina along the coast. You can spot which outdoor scenes are filmed in Chicago and which ones in the Carolinas.
Anyone who has ever lived around that area can spot it. But anyway, this is another movie in which Ar-nuld basically jerks people around for 90 minutes then blows them all away in the final 10 minutes.
This is one of those movies an actor makes right when his career takes off to big star. It's still worth a look if there's nothing else on, if not for watching California's governor try to act like a mafioso wise guy.
