Review of Raw (2017) by Nate J — 24 May 2017

A movie which carried a lot of press and critical acclaim with it for its brutality and graphic violence. The plot is pretty straightforward, with an ending that is actually great twist on the whole affair.

The screenplay is hit and miss, but I have a feeling it's a lost-in-translation problem. The violence isn't overly terrible, I've seen worse, but it is there and it is graphic. At no point did I need to turn away or switch off.

But there are genuine moments that will unsettle any viewer. It's a rough journey, but a solid one throughout.
