Review of Raw (2017) by Riley B.f H — 04 Jan 2018
Incredibly grisly, gritty, dark, bloody, disgusting, and still somehow manages to be a coming-of-age film. The themes of sexuality, meeting family expectations, fitting in, and discovering who you are, are all explored, maybe more morbidly than requested, but nonetheless, are developed fully in this story.
It's a beautiful looking film, and the environment helps to engross you in the setting. It's a film like none other, and if you can sit through some of the more gruesome parts, it can sit in your mind for a long time to come.
