Review of Ravenous (1999) by Bryan M — 15 Oct 2007
A stunning, yet fascinating romp through the darkest depths of human depravity. Cold, calculating black humor superbly mixed with nail-biting tension. Both Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle deliver utterly convincing performances, with Damon Albarn (from Blur and the Gorilaz) setting a perfect tone with one of the most unique soundtracks in cinema history.
Multidimensional characters drive this psychologically complex narrative, although the sheer, overall insanity of the film perhaps makes it too much bloody fun to notice.
