Review of Ravenous (1999) by Mike H — 20 Aug 2015

Whoa, this was not what I had in mind after I read the plot and saw the posters.

This movie might seem like a horror/thriller, but believe me when I tell you, this is a pure horror comedy. I was very confused at a few scenes and found myself actually laughing. This movie pulls of the genre perfectly! The story is interesting and there a plot twist which I did not see coming. The gore/blood effects are great and there are some truly nasty scenes. Of course, the movie is not without flaws. Like I said, the movie is more of a horror/comedy and while it does work most of the time, sometimes it just doesn't. At moments it's very silly, and sometimes it's too serious! It doesn't really know what it wants to be! The acting is great, and the characters are interesting. I quite enjoyed the movie and if you like this kind of a genre and cannibal movies, I'd recommend watching this and, of course, the 1989's Parents! One of a kind movies!
