Review of Ravenous (1999) by Eric H — 13 May 2014
When I first saw the previews for this movie, I had no idea what the plot was. After watching it, I found that this is one of the most original movies I've seen in recent memory. It's hard to classify, but it's part psychological thriller, part horror, and part action, with a bit of dark satire thrown in the mix.
Set in 19th century Western United States, this movie features excellent performances by Guy Pearce (LA Confidential, Momento) and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting), as two Union Army officers engaged in a battle for their lives, and those around them.
Although it didn't recieve much box office success, this movie is definately worth watching, it's an excellent sleeper pick.
