Review of Rat Race (2001) by Lee K — 17 Jan 2010
It's funny how something you see a few years back was hilarious and then when you get the chance to re watch it you feel like ho-hum . Mood change maybe? I dont know however I recall enjoying this way more after my first viewing in 2001 and only re-watched it because my now 9 year old son has a recent love affair with Rowan Atkinson's Mr.
Bean charector so he had me on a mission to seek out other movies he's been in. Atkinson actually is this movie , his scenes in the film being the most enjoyable. Jon lovitz also has a funny scene in this film featuring Adolf Hitler's automobile and a WW2 convention.
This is a funny film dont get me wrong but I remember being rendered breathless at times but merely chuckled at this viewing. It might be a one time hilarious watch such as "there's something about Mary" I dont know.
however if all else fails its an updated version of The Cannonball Run minus the cool vehicles.
