Review of Rashomon (1950) by Leighton T — 24 Jan 2010
An amazing piece from Kurosawa. Manages to show at its barest the ideas of human justice, truth and hope. Mifune, though laughing through most of the film, is its catalyst and magnificently so. The film, as well, is a visual marvel with so many striking shots.
The closing scene is one of the best I've seen.
