Review of Rashomon (1950) by Justin S — 26 Mar 2010
Finally. Compared to what I've seen in Kurosawa's other stuff, this one has more of an overt bleakness that barely manages to scrape together a kind of clingy/sappy humanism by the end. The theme(s) surprisingly feel forced.
Wonderful camerawork, though.
