Review of Rashomon (1950) by Eric K — 24 Aug 2010
An odd little tale... I can't quite grasp the message in this film. It's either that good people can commit heinous acts, or that good and evil co-exist within everyone. It seems to be a bit of both, but there are contradictions to both philosophies laced into the storyline.
That said, it's easy to immerse yourself in this film. A tale of a murder, and a trial where everyone confesses to the kill in detail, except the actual killer. Certainly worthwhile viewing. :).
