Review of Rashomon (1950) by Frank J — 01 Jun 2012
I imagine that this movie was a game changer at the time. It has been largely imitated but it's effectiveness was never duplicated. The movie deals mainly with the theme of perception and truth by telling the story of a rape of a woman and the murder of her samurai husband through 4 different eyewitness accounts.
In my humble opinion, this movie was Kurosawa's magnum opus.
