Review of Rashomon (1950) by Juan Carlo V — 09 Feb 2013

Rashomon. The Bandit, The Wife or The Husband? Which one is telling the thruth? Who is lying?Why and for what reasons could they be possibly lying... For Honor? For Money? Or maybe only for Greed?... And to whom are they telling their version of what really happened to them; to us? The viewers? Maybe to a judge? Do I think the judge was us! Kurosawa is and still is Genious Filmmaker and a powerful storyteller and this film is another Masterpiece.

Amaizing structure of the story and Masterful imagery like in every other Kurosawa film. How can we possibly lie to ourselves in our darkest moments with desire and greed; do we really have a soul or a heart at all? Rashomon!
