Review of Ran (1985) by Jeff B — 30 Oct 2010
A bit slow to start and plodding at times, but it's merely soaking in the atmosphere. Not Kurosawa's best work, but it's interesting to see his film in color. Also, there's tremendous work with the troop movements in this film as all of the military stuff really, really impressed me.
Great acting from nearly everybody, though, in particular, Kyoami (the fool), Tango (the Earl of Kent role), Lady Kaede and Lord Kurogane really impressed. A good film, but a bit too long I think.
