Review of Rampage (2018) by Ike L — 18 Jun 2018
Over the top action but the story and their characters are thin. the premise is intriguing, but giant monster movies are always though to handle due to the scope they represent, even pacific rim barely holds up, and that is a good monster movie.
you got to make a strong story with those characters, there's an interesting try at the beginning with dwayne johnson making a bond with the ape and that thin bond is what holds the movie in my opinion, because all the other characters are pretty forgettable, some even disappear and we wont miss them.
the villain plot is poor, but the special effects are great. it's an ok movie, see it at home. revisit cloverfield and attack the block for a better handling of these kind of movies. 11/20.
