Review of Rampage (2018) by Abhijeet B — 15 Apr 2018
My rating :- 3 out of 5.
When Godzilla meets King Kong, Rampage is born....
It's an no brain action packed movie that will give you the best of Dwayne Johnson (Davis) in his action avatar coupled with CGI in abundance.
A company called Energyne develops a genetic transformation formulae in outer space. The experiment fails miserably, creating a mutated rat, causing bloodbath in the beginning sequence itself.
Much is at stake when traces of the experiment enters earth in a meteoric form and mutates George (Davis' friendly Albino Gorilla), a wolf and a croc who cause enough destruction that Davis needs to stop. Well, that's the movie all about.
The best part about the movie is the action and the special effects. Brad Peyton hasn't wasted a moment in creating a long drawn build up. You will see the thrill evident from the very beginning of the movie.
GEORGE the Albino is monstrous yet adorable and you will love the humour shared between Davis and George.
There's a small cameo from Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a special appearance which is praise worthy.
Rampage is not the first of it's kind and there have been several movies made with a similar plot. Some of the sequences may cause a Deja Vu moment. But yet you will not feel bored for a moment....
Leaving everything aside, give it a try if you are a Dwayne Johnson fan and loved watching Godzilla or Kong. thanks.
