Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Kevin H — 20 Apr 2009
First Blood Part II is a real step down from the first Rambo film and stands as a good example of the type of typical excess that Hollywood was known for in the 1980's. By the time the film is over and Rambo has blown up a helicopter by firing a bazooka at it from the cockpit of another helicopter we realize that it really was nothing more than an escapist fantasy.
Martin Kove of Karate Kid fame shows up as a jerk (surprise) while Steven Berkoff does his best job copying the same role he played (better) in Octopussy. This movie stinks but I've seen much, much worse.
