Review of Ram Dass: Fierce Grace (2001) by Susan M — 31 Oct 2007
The only thing that spoke to me from this man's message was that we have to live out our own karma, so of course I am going on faith that he is living out his. Based upon this film, I'm not sure that is as clear to him as it is to the millions in the world whose sprits grow through suffering without feeling the need to have others see them as somehow original.
He was given that beautiful gift of seeing the pipes in the ceiling and nothing else, yet saw this experience as a reason to be disappointed in his own spirituality. I hope the compassion of his gentle teacher will one day let him shed some of this ego and physical affluence.
I don't think he is a fraud, rather he seems flawed like us all. He just has a lot more publicity attached to his flaws.
