While the first movie felt more like a loving homage to video games, this one feel like a forced and unnatural extended ad for various tech companies and Disney. Thematically itï¿ 1/2(TM)s a mess. Ralphï¿ 1/2(TM)s dependency arc is fine.
However, the film undermines the existential themes of the first movie by setting Penelope up for an existential realization of her own only to validate her 'game jumping' because sheï¿ 1/2(TM)s bored.
