Review of Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) by Freddiemercury3 — 30 Jan 2019

I saw this film at first. Hoping that it would be as good as the first one. I exited the Cinema with a disappointed face and thinking "What the **** did I just watched?".

There are so many things that make the film so awful and bad.

1) No clearance of the plot: The plot is just random, and you can't see a clear message thanks to the instant random changes of the story.

2) The other main characters from the first film, Disney now won't give a **** about them:

In the first film, we see Felix and others in a huge role, but in this one. They only appear in like, one scene and then completely disappear.

3) Personality changes: In the first film, we see Ralph with that cool badass personality. What happened? Now Ralph is scared about everything, and can't even trust his friend Vanellope. That change disappointed me the most. Why? Especially the part when Ralph puts a virus on the game Vanellope was, now that's being overprotective, it gives me the feeling that he's a freaking weirdo and a creep. The same thing goes to Vanellope.

4) Jokes: If you're a kid, then you did enjoy the movie because of it's childish and immature humor. The jokes in this film are really bad. To the point that they make you so annoyed... The only good joke was the Princess part when they saved Ralph from falling down to his death, and saved him with Snow White's dress. The rest is ****.

5) Cringe count: It's not that cringe on the rest except for the YouTube ripoff scene. That scene is maximum cringe indeed. It's just your basic memes but now more stupid to the point that you cringe to death. Especially the part when Ralph does the Fortnite dance, that made me cringe so hard that I was trying to avoid looking at the screen while that part was showing up.

6) Message: The message of the film is not well specified. And not well explained, it gets destroyed by the cringe jokes, the childish humor, and the random story changes.

7) Video games: Since well it's the internet, it's obvious that it'll be about the internet, but since it's Ralph, there needs to be more than 1 video game. But in here we only see 3 Video games:

And 8) Villian: Villian? There's no villain, at all. You never know when the villain appears, and you never know when it gets defeated.

Tapper, Felix and Sugar Rush, the other ones go to ****.

Again, I don't blame you if you did like the film, or if you didn't. It's your own choice to like it or not. But I didn't like it, I hate it so much.

To resume:

- The plot is not even clear, it's just random as hell.

- The jokes are stupid and cringe.

- The message is not clear because of the things said above.

- Missing sub-plots of the other characters. It would have been interesting what was happening to Felix, his girlfriend while they were adopting the Sugar Rush kids.

- Ralph and Vanellope's personality changes are so flanderized that it becomes frustrating and annoying to the viewer.

- There were some scenes that were unnecessary, like the Montage part. It's so long and annoying. That musical scene was not good. It sucked.

- No villain.

This film sucks a lot. If you want to see a good animated film, watch Isle of Dogs, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, How To Train Your Dragon 3, everything except this movie.
